NIKO FITI PWDS EDUCATION INTEGRATION PROGRAM MOI GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL, ISINYA

The Niko Fiti journey started in 2011 after informed statistics developed by The National Disability Survey which found disability prevalence to be 4%. The most prevalent of disability being physical followed by visual impairment. Having earmarked disability as a national priority with low intervention structured Kenya Re developed Niko Fiti. A commitment to grow awareness around disabilities while championing PWDs inclusion and participation in national building activities. So far, this campaign has touched and changed the lives of over 4000 persons living with disability in different counties across Kenya, through the provision of assistive and mobility devices.

KENYA RE PARTNERS WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION TO PROMOTE INCLUSION & OPPORTUNITY FOR PERSONS LIVING WITH DISABILITIES

Kenya Re’s Niko Fiti - Ability beyond Disability flagship CSR project has over the past six years focused on awareness and provision of assistive devices to persons with disabilities across the country. This year, Kenya Re together with the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK), Ministry of Education and the Standard Group have teamed up to promote inclusion and opportunity for students living with disability to enable them to join reputable secondary schools next year. 

KENYA RE HOLDS 19TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Kenya Re hosted the 19th Annual General Meeting on 16th June 2017 at the Bomas of Kenya. The location was serene and conducive for such a big and important event in the Kenya Re calendar. It was an opportunity for Kenya Re to meet with all their shareholders and stakeholders to give insights on the Corporations performance, financial position, and an update on the business operations. Shareholders also addressed their questions to the Chairman and Managing Director regarding the future of Kenya Re.

KENYA RE LEADS IN FRANCHISE VALUE; CYTONN INVESTMENTS REPORT REVEALS

Cytonn Investments is an alternative investment manager with presence in East Africa, Finland and the US. Cytonn Investments provides investors with exposure to the high growth East Africa region; their key investors include global and local institutional investors, individual high net-worth investors and the diaspora. 

MEDIA BREAKFAST HELD FOR ZAMBIA MEDIA

The inaugural Kenya Reinsurance Corporation media breakfast briefing took place on 5th July 2017 at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel in Lusaka Zambia. The objective of the event was to demystify the Corporation in Zambia and to enable the media further understand reinsurance business as well as establish stronger media relations. The event was attended by key media houses such as ZNBC, MUVI TV, Zambia Daily Mail, and The Daily Nation among others.

KENYA RE HR AMONG TOP 100 GLOBAL HR PROFESSIONALS

Ms. Sally Kangethe, HR Manager at Kenya Re was recently conferred with the Top 100 Influential Global HR Professionals award in Mumbai, India during the World HRD Congress 25th Jubilee celebrations. The World HRD Congress is governed by Global Advisory Council which guides the strategic intent of the congress to its logical success. She was one of the few ladies bestowed the prestigious awards that are recognized globally among HR professionals.

PROTOCOL AND ETIQUETTE WORKSHOP

Kenya Re held its first ever protocol and etiquette training for the management and staff on 20th June 2017 at the Sarova Stanley hotel. The workshop was officially opened by the Kenya Re, Managing Director, Mr. Jadiah Mwarania. Giving his opening remarks, Mr. Mwarania stated that proper protocol and etiquette training was an integral part of an organization and especially at Kenya Re. 

KENYA RE HOSTS 2ND GOLF TOURNAMENT IN ZAMBIA

The second Kenya Reinsurance Corporation golf tournament was once again held at the prestigious Lusaka Golf Club on 7th July 2017. The event was held to appreciate the Zambian market for the business and to provide a less formal environment for stakeholders to interact. It attracted 130 players drawn from the insurance industry and other stakeholders. 

CORPORATE GOLF DAY

The second Kenya Reinsurance Corporation golf tournament was once again held at the prestigious Karen Country Club on 22nd September 2017.

The event was held to appreciate the Kenyan market for the business and to provide a less formal environment for the stakeholders to interact. It attracted over 160 players drawn from the insurance industry and other stakeholders. 

KENYA RE HOSTS THE FIRST EVER RETAKAFUL CONFERENCE IN KENYA

In an effort to create awareness & establish Takaful and Retakaful in Kenya and Africa, Kenya Re held the first ever Retakaful conference on 27th March at the Stanley Hotel. Kenya Re partnered with The International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) of Malaysia and Alhuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics of Pakistan to arrange the conference and make it successful.
