21-May-2021

The Corporation joined other corporates and like-minded individuals around the world to mark the 6th UN GLOBAL ROAD SAFETY WEEK held on 17th – 21st May 2021. Several activities were lined up to mark the important week and this was led by the Managing Director, Mr. Jadiah Mwarania.

The objectives of the week’s campaign were to garner policy commitments at both national and local levels to deliver 30km/h speed limits and zones in urban areas. The week was also used to generate local support for such low-speed measures and build momentum towards the launch of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for road safety in late 2021. It was also a precursor to the High-Level Meeting of the UN General Assembly to be held in 2022.

During the week, a signing ceremony was held where the Managing Director, Jadiah Mwarania expressed his support for the campaign and encouraged people to #LOVE30 and help build #STREETS FOR LIFE. He urged Kenya Re staff and stakeholders to take responsibility of their driving speeds on the roads and help reduce road carnage.
