Cynthia Simeza is an insurance executive and Chartered Insurer with over 25 years of experience in insurance and risk management, spanning underwriting, claims, operations, business development, governance and executive leadership.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Zambia, complemented by three postgraduate qualifications from the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). She has also completed the executive education programme at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (GSB), further strengthening her strategic leadership and management capabilities.

Cynthia is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Zambia (FIIZA) and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute  - ACII (UK). She is also a member of the Institute of Directors Zambia (IoDZ) and has contributed to the development and governance of the Zambian insurance industry through her role as a Board Member of the Insurers Association of Zambia (IAZ).

Prior to joining Kenya Re, Cynthia served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Klapton Insurance Zambia, a start-up insurance company, where she was appointed to lead the establishment and development of the business. During her tenure, she provided overall strategic and operational leadership, including building the company, developing its business strategy and operating model, establishing the management team and governance structures, and positioning the company within the Zambian insurance market.

Earlier in her career, Cynthia held senior management roles at Professional Insurance Corporation Zambia Limited and Klapton Reinsurance. She possesses significant experience in claims, operations, risk, underwriting and reinsurance.
