The Corporation, through the Marketing & Business Development department, in the Reinsurance Operations Division has continued to enhance industry knowledge and skills at the recently-launched Kenya Re Training Academy. On Friday, 16th February 2024, the Training Academy conducted two trainings on Anti-Money Laundering and another on Strategic Data planning and application of BI tools for decision support. This is the second and third training conducted in the Academy this year .

The trainings had an overwhelming participation of 37 participants drawn from over 20 diverse Insurance/reinsurance companies as well as our own staff from Kenya Re who were interested in gaining insights on the two topics. The professions represented in the trainings were: Analysts, Underwriters, Finance personnel, ICT professionals, Customer Experience personnel, Data experts and others.

The Seminar was officially opened & closed by the Manager, Marketing & Business Development & Kenya Re Training Academy Coordinator, Ms. Lucy Kagwiria. She thanked participants for registering for the trainings and encouraged them to learn as much as possible from the trainers. She went further to underscore the Training Academy’s commitment to targeting Kenya Re customers, who will continue to benefit from the trainings free of charge, for comprehensive trainings on reinsurance and direct insurance products, aimed at bridging knowledge gaps in the Industry.

The day’s Participants were privileged to gain insights from the lead trainers –Ms. Hellen Okanga – Kenya Re’s Acting Manager, Risk & Compliance who did a superb presentation on Anti money laundering.  Mr. Phillip Odhiambo Sanda – Kenya Re’s Trainer/Subsidiary Coordinator and Mr. Richard Mongo – Kenya Re’s Life Underwriter also did a fantastic presentation on Strategic Data planning and application of BI tools for decision support.

Staff from the Marketing & Business Development department also attended and coordinated the required logistics of the training.
